Yes: Amazon Prime members can play Star Wars: Galactic Racer on Amazon Luna at no extra cost, streamed through the cloud. It joined Luna's Prime library on launch day, October 6, 2026. Wccftech reports that Prime access covers the single-player modes (Campaign, Arcade and Scenarios), while online multiplayer is a separate question covered below.

What Prime members get on Luna

Luna includes a rotating library of games that Prime members can play without buying them. Galactic Racer arrived in that library the same day it launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, which Amazon and the press describe as the first time a major new release has done so on Luna.

According to Wccftech's October 6 report, the free access covers the full single-player side of the game:

Amazon's Head of Gaming, Jeff Gattis, framed it as giving Luna players day-one access: "We've always believed Luna players deserve to be in the action from day one." If you have not played yet, the campaign guide explains how runs, tours and failure work.

Can you play online multiplayer on Luna?

The sources disagree, so treat this as unconfirmed. Several reports summarise the offer as single-player only and say you need to own the full game on a supported platform to race other players. Wccftech, however, quotes the Luna product page as saying cross-platform multiplayer support is "coming later."

Both can be true at different times: multiplayer may be missing now and added later. Check the Luna product page before relying on it for online races. The multiplayer guide covers lobby sizes, podracing and cross play on the platforms where online play is confirmed.

Is it really free, and for how long?

It is free in the sense that it costs nothing beyond an active Amazon Prime membership. You are not buying a copy: you stream it from Amazon's servers, and there is nothing to download or keep. 9to5Google describes Luna's Prime selection as a rotating library, so the game can leave it later. No end date has been announced.

On other platforms you buy the game. The standard edition is $59.99 on Steam, with the Deluxe Edition at $79.99; the price guide compares editions and stores. If you want permanent access, a purchase is still the only route.

Which devices can play it through Luna?

Luna is a streaming service, so the game runs on Amazon's hardware and you need a stable internet connection and a controller-friendly device. 9to5Google mentions playing through the web. Wccftech notes that Luna is reachable from the Games tab in the Prime Video app on Fire TV in the US.

Exact device and region support is set by Amazon, not by the game, so confirm it on Luna's own pages. A controller is the sensible choice: the PC version itself lists gamepad as the recommended input.

Luna is a good way to try the campaign before deciding on a purchase, especially if you do not own a current console or a capable PC. If you already own a PS5, Xbox Series X|S or gaming PC, a local copy avoids streaming latency in a racing game where split-second reactions matter.

Is there a demo instead?

No demo has been announced for Star Wars: Galactic Racer. Luna through Prime is the closest thing to a free trial right now. Searches for a free download lead to cracked copies, which come with malware risk and no online play; the Denuvo and DRM page explains how the PC version is protected.

What carries over if you buy later?

Progress transfer between Luna and other platforms is unconfirmed. Even among the purchasable platforms, cross-platform progression has not been confirmed, so do not assume a Luna save will follow you to a console or PC copy. Plan on starting fresh if you move from Luna to a purchased version.
