Star Wars: Galactic Racer has 19 playable multiplayer racers: 13 Galactic League racers, each tied to a Racer Style, and 6 classic podracer pilots including Sebulba and Ben Quadinaros. League racers unlock as your Multiplayer Rank rises, from Shade at the start to Kestar Bool at rank 40. The six podracer pilots all unlock together once podracing opens at Multiplayer Level 5.

Galactic League racers and how to unlock them

Each League racer brings a Racer Style, which shapes how you earn and spend energy in a race. The table follows Insider Gaming's list; Game Rant and KeenGamer publish the same ranks.

Wookieepedia lists all of these except Griff Halloran as debuting in this game; Griff first appeared in the animated series Star Wars Resistance. Rank comes from playing online races, so the multiplayer guide is the place to start if you want the later racers.

Podracer pilots: Sebulba, Ben Quadinaros and the classics

Podracing has its own roster of six pilots from Star Wars: Episode I and the original Racer game: Sebulba, Ben Quadinaros, Gasgano, Dud Bolt, Teemto Pagalies and Ody Mandrell. You do not unlock them one at a time; all six become available when podracing opens at Multiplayer Level 5. Anakin Skywalker is not one of them at launch.

Sebulba also has a major supporting role in the story. Kotaku notes that you can drive Sebulba's podracer by talking to him at camp during a Tour, and the campaign ends Act 1 with a race against him. His multiplayer traits, as listed in character guides, centre on fire and takedowns: he starts with the Flame Vent ability, recovers energy from takedowns and gains a short Surging boost after them.

Ben Quadinaros is the pilot whose podracer famously failed at the start of the Boonta Eve Classic. In Galactic Racer's backstory he kept racing and became regarded as one of Sebulba's great rivals. A podracer flashback in the story also features Gasgano, Dud Bolt, Ody Mandrell and Teemto Pagalies.

Who is Biddy Blas?

Biddy Blas is one of the 13 Galactic League racers, unlocked at Multiplayer Rank 26 with the Firebug Racer Style. Wookieepedia lists the character as new to this game. Reaching rank 26 takes a long stretch of online racing, so Biddy is one of the later unlocks. Richard Summers-Calvert voices the character, per Wookieepedia.

The story cast

The campaign follows Shade, a lone human racer working his way up the Galactic League's unsanctioned races in the New Republic era while chasing his rival, Kestar Bool. StarWars.com's Databank has official entries for Shade, Kestar Bool, Hibi Esuufa, Darius Pax and the Galactic League itself. The Shade guide covers the protagonist in detail.

Can you create or customise your own character?

There is no full character creator in the sources checked: in the campaign you play as Shade, and in multiplayer you pick from the roster above. Customisation focuses on vehicles, Racer Styles, liveries and player banners rather than designing a new pilot. How far cosmetic customisation of the racers themselves goes is unconfirmed. Will more characters be added?

The developers have confirmed there will be post-launch content but have not named new pilots. Asked about specifics, game director Matt Webster declined to comment. The DLC page tracks anything announced.

Is the full cast bigger than 19?

Possibly. One racer database lists 20 racers once campaign-only appearances are counted, such as Sebulba racing as an opponent in his own podracer during the story. The 19 above are the ones you can select in multiplayer.
